Route
Morning tour:
9:15 am: Pickup in front of Avignon tourist office (address: 41 cours Jean Jaurès)
10:15 am: Be amazed in the colourful narrow streets of Roussillon (1 hour drive), village completely covered of ochre and listed among the most beautiful villages of France. Duration: between 40 minutes and 1 hour.
11:30 am: During lavender’s blossoming (about June 20th to July 31st), yield to the lavender fields’ beauty at Senanque Abbey (25 minutes drive) to stock up on pictures and Provençal fragrances under cicadas’ warbling. Out of this period, you will discover the ochre’s Mines of Bruoux (15 minutes drive, admission tickets included in the price) by doing the site’s guided tour in its huge galleries (15 metres / 49 feet high) digged in the mountain. Duration: about 1 hour.
12:30 pm: Provençal picnic on the heights of Gordes (during lavender’s blossoming) with a stunning view over the Luberon (20 minutes drive) or picnic with the Mines of Bruoux in the background. This picnic will be made up of local goods only (instance: hard-boiled eggs from the farm, tapenade, anchovy purée, fresh goat cheese, seasonal fruits, grape juice). Duration: about 1 hour.
1:45/2:00 pm: Photo-stop with a fantastic view over Gordes (15 minutes drive), listed among the most beautiful villages of France and elected as the world’s most beautiful village by the American travel magazine Travel+Leisure. Duration: about 15 minutes.
2:15/2:30 pm: Wine tasting of Luberon appellation in a local winery with fantastic surroundings (15 minutes drive). Duration: between 40 minutes and 1 hour.
3:00/3:15 pm: Back to Avignon (1 hour drive). Arrival in front of the tourist office at around 4:00/4:15 pm.

4:45/5:00 pm: During lavender’s blossoming (about June 20th to July 31st), yield to the lavender fields’ beauty at Senanque Abbey (25 minutes drive) to stock up on pictures and Provençal fragrances under cicadas’ warbling. Out of this period, you will visit the Candied fruits’ House in Apt (15 minutes drive) with its little museum, its shop, and above all its table for tasting! Duration: from 30 to 40 minutes.
6:00/6:15 pm: Photo-stop with a fantastic view over Gordes (15 minutes drive), listed among the most beautiful villages of France and elected as the world’s most beautiful village by the American travel magazine Travel+Leisure. Duration: about 15 minutes.
6:30/6:45 pm: Back to Avignon (1 hour drive). Arrival in front of the tourist office at around 7:30 pm.

Other information to know:
- The tour will occur, except in case of emergency (red vigilance declared by Météo France, quarantine, driver’s illness)
- Cancellation with complete refund possible up to 24 heures before the departure time
- No wine tasting for pregnant women, under 18 and people with heart problems
- Make sure to have a warm top to enter the ochre’s Mines of Bruoux, even in summer during heatwaves! (temperature is only 10°C/50°F inside)
